U.S. President Donald Trump officially began his unprecedented second state visit to Britain on Wednesday, with the Royal Pump being a large veneer for key diplomatic negotiations and serving as a thorny issue for Jeffrey Epstein to wander.
King Charles and the royal family will launch a red carpet for the president when he arrives at Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, home to nearly 1,000 years in the home of the British monarch, and held carriage parades, gun salutes, military fachast and luxury.
The UK said it would be the biggest military ceremony to welcome, i.e., a state visit in real memory.
Trump is an openly royal fan, secret about not only becoming the first U.S. leader, but also the first elected politician invited by the British monarch to twice.
“I love King Charles,” he posted on his February Truth Social Account. “It’s a very special place,” he said when he arrived.
Britain hopes visits will strengthen “special relationship”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer hopes to use this sentiment as a UK advantage as his government series to consolidate the “special relationship” between the two countries, deepen economic ties, secure billions of dollars in investment, discuss tariffs and impose Ukraine on the U.S. president.
The visit has already provided a new technology agreement between the two countries, from Microsoft to NVIDIA, Google and Openai guaranteed a UK investment of £31 billion ($4.2 billion) in AI, Quantum Computing and Citivilly Necle in the coming years.
Starmer also hopes to make further progress in tariffs.
“Basically, I’m in trade, too. They want to see if the trade deal can be perfected,” Trump said on Tuesday. “They like to see if they can get a better deal, so we’ll talk to them.”
Protesters stand out despite their high safety
Despite the tight security of the visit, a large-scale police operation was conducted in Windsor and 1,600 police officers were deployed in London to respond to the Trump League demonstrations, but protesters performed stunts in Windsor.
Police said a Trump image with late-stage sex offender Epstein was arrested Tuesday for malicious communications after it was predicted to reach a tower in Windsor Castle. Trump was not in Windsor at the time.
Starmer fired Peter Mandelson last week as British ambassador in Washington’s relationship with Epstein, which could lead to embarrassing problems for Starmer and Trump and Trump, and his relationship with finances has also come under scrutiny.
The London community had a different view of Trump’s state-owned visit Wednesday morning, with some angry at the invitation, while others said it was wise politics and used the gentle power of Britain well.
“We are looking for a full situation,” said Kirstie Robertshaw, a 54-year-old attorney.
Trump was shocked by beauty pageant
Wednesday will be dominated by the ceremony. Trump and his wife Melania will be first welcomed by the king’s “very handsome” son Prince William – the president called him – the heir’s wife Kate.
Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, will join Trump in a carriage parade through the castle ground, a route lined by 1,300 British service staff.
Royals will visit Trump for the historic project of the President and First Lady of St George’s Chapel, the last resting place for Queen Elizabeth, who first hosted Trump in 2019, and he will post a treat in 2019.
Later, before the king and the president will give speeches, military aircraft will be airlifted by military aircraft.
For Charles himself, the visit could cause mixed emotions. From his 50 years of advocating environmental reasons to the stubborn support for religion and his recent strong support for Canada, he has little in common with Trump.
However, since the coronation, the occasion will also bring him the greatest global attention.
“I don’t think anyone can take President Trump and King Charles III’s view of anything seriously, naturally,” said historian Anthony Seldon. “But expecting the king is definitely a professional role.”
“If everything goes well…I think it will be the most important event in his reign.” On Thursday, the action will be moved to Starer’s Checkers Country Residence with a focus on geopolitics. ($1 = 0.7333 lbs)
